Hi Framily!
This is our EIGHTH(!!) year sharing our Little Livingstone Black History Card!
As per usual, I THINK you'll get it in Februrary. If not, it's fine.
Why??
Because we celebrate Black History Month ALL YEAR LONG!
Drop us a line and let us know how you're doing.
Alistair is now 8 and in third grade. He still loves animals, Pokemon, watching people play Roblox on YouTube, Roblox, accurately remembering things that happened when he was 2, pushing Daphne's buttons, and wining to music by Benito AKA Bad Bunny. He also loves soccer, beating Alliah in chess, and recently tried (and likes!) skiing. He also learned wrestling is not his thing.
Daphne is 11 and officially in middle school. She was even student of the month in October!! D loves baking, crafting, painting & drawing, singing, excursions to the city, reading, field hockey, skiing, collecting jellycats, and working with her friends on their sticker/bracelet business 'Tiny Treasures' (stop by the Walnut St. Fair in Montclair)! We are so proud of her for performing in her first voice recital at school! Daphne is now decisively taller than Alliah. By at least 2 inches. Her feet are bigger, too.
LeVaur is still a grown man with a lot of jobs. (Again, #Jamaicans). He returned to his old stomping grounds for a regional role at Kone and is also the owner of Hammond Paving/Everline Newark, which he has continued to grow! I continue to be incredibly proud of him, and still don't know how he manages it all. This year's snow removal has been an unexpected bonus during a typically unseasonable period. Everline provides parking lot maintenance/sweeping, pothole filling, line striping, seal coating, and more to businesses, government agencies, and occasional residences around northern new Jersey and beyond. If you ever go to a badly maintained parking lot - let a brotha know, lol! (#closedmouthsdontgetfed).
Alliah is still grown and and grateful. She just released book 11, The Kwanzaa Story, which has the family on the cover and throughout the book, which was both cool and admittedly a little awkward. (coowkward? Nevermind.) Her book We Dig Fossils about a family that... digs fossils and Scarecited both got a lot of love in best of lists for the end of the year. In just a couple of weeks she'll be releasing a super cute book - LOVE THAT BABY HAIR! her third book with illustrator Sawyer Cloud, and her third with an exclamation mark in the title, lol. She has actually been using the Peloton.
P.S. Please support Black authors and booksellers right now. Time are hard.
Above All - God is Good!!!
If you're ever in the Montclair area, give us a ring, but let us know how you're doing.
